I’m making this post from St. Louis!
I visited here for a LAN party with some friends and I’m having a great time.
The markets are changing, and the more people who find out about the auctioneer addon the more competition gets stiff. This is a problem that people have noticed. But it’s not like we still can’t make money.
Making gold in WoW easily is not over. It’s just different.
How many of you still play on level 1 auction house characters?
My auction house character is now level 35. I did this on all of my servers because disenchanting has become a huge part of my strategy in the auction house.
How many of you are taking advantage of disenchanting items on the AH for profit?
This doesn’t mean drop your professions and pick up enchanting. Because you can get free disenchanting. (I will talk about this in another post coming soon).
But you should definitely take advantage of disenchanting in your every-day efforts for farming gold.
Players commonly post items on the AH below disenchant value. I’m at fault too. It would be a pain to check the Disenchant value of every item before listing it.
This just simply means more profits for us, and profits that are created out of thin air. You don’t even have to worry about competition either. Once you disenchant the item you can list it 500 times… since they are enchanting materials they will list for free.
I know there are many disenchanters out there so comment below on your stories with disenchanting to encourage other players of how profitable it is.

Hi:
im an enchanter, ive noticed this DE thing since i was lvl 35 like a month ago, and belive me when i say.. IT WORKS.
i make alot of gold by De’ing stuff.
since people now have auctioneer, they are not putting attention on the DE and thats where we come in.
now get your new char. lvl it.. lvl Enchanting.. and make Gold.
Thanks Derek.

I have to admit the gold you make from DE’ing items is astronomical. Personally(on my server), I never sell level 61-69 greens on my server because no matter how great your price is on the AH, no one in the 60’s buy greens because they hit the instances for the blue items.
I have a friend who I open lockboxes for free and he DE’s my items for free. DE mats sell better than any disenchantable green/blue item anywhere.

Two words….”Void Shatter”
void crystals on my server go from about 35-40g.
Large prismatics go from about 25-35 gold.

Well, I’ve been disenchanting for profit for a while now. The new Auctioneer Adv makes this so much easier though. My main is an enchanter and I learned over a year ago that I made more money by disenchanting stuff than by selling some items on the AH and certainly more money than I would if I sat there spamming trade trying to sell enchanting services.
Auctioneer Adv makes it very easy to make good profits on disenchanting materials. You can configure bottom scanner to specifically scan for items that are listed for less than their DE value. You can set your minimum profit margins as well.
It also has a very neat little evaluation tool called Ematsconvert or something like that. It evaluates whether you could make profits by breaking greater essences into lesser essences and selling the lesser.
As Derek mentioned enchanting mats list for free so I have no problem having hundreds of greater magic essences listed on the AH for sale all the time. I still make my profits in the long run.

I ain’t gonna share any secrets about disenchanting but when you de a ton of greens those small amounts can really stack up and it is cheaper sometimes to buy greens and de them for materials you need for enchanting.
